Truck drivers at the Unemployment office today

Drive within the law, and its not a problem.

 

Wow! Unless you are running a really fast truck, several log books, very careless and accident prone... don't worry. That guy must be a real trip in himself! Just follow the rules, ALWAYS do your pretip, and stay alert when driving and you will be just fine.

 

Depends on how well you follow laws and your level of luck. In my 7 years of driv ing I have had one ticket but it was not enough to disqualify me. I have been unemployed for months because of companies going out of business. Which make it hard to find new work as my experience can't be verified.

 

If he's got too many points on his license, consider it a good thing that he's sitting in the unemployment line. Drive safely, sensably, and courteously, and you won't be in his shoes.

 

If you run for a medium to large carrier you should be fine if you play by the rules. Most of the guys I know that are practically unhireable work for small local outfits or drive a truck for a one man shop and run "outlaw."

 

Too many moving violations on his license I bet. Maybe a dui thrown in there too and he is done in this industry now. I highly doubt you are that irresponsible Oaktown.

 

Don't drink. Many hate Elogs, but they do protect you. Company was forced to go to Elogs & after about a month, I liked them just fine. Same with governed trucks, it's more important to not get tickets than try to impress other drivers, who really are not impressed.
