Hell, mind was $352. The bills said the load only weighed 28,000#s and the loaders left the building even before I pulled away from the dock. So after I pulled away from the dock I noticed that they loaded everything in the front, but since all the loaders had already left I had to slide the tandems all the way forward hoping to shift some of the weight to the back. It didn't work and I ended up 3,000#s over on the drives. Of course, I didn't bother going out of route to the nearest scales in Bordentown because there was no one there left to adjust my load. Live and learn!

Been there, Done that............30 yrs ago.......learn from your mistakes

One time I got a $1500 ticket in AZ. Never trust paperwork always weigh from now on.
-
That's why I always am on the dock when I get loaded.
Or, at least my suspension gauge would be sky high when I'm sitting at the dock I'd know it was wrong. -
It happens,i've been overweight because I was too lazy to weigh the load, lol. One time I picked up in Ohio and no truckstops till after the weigh station.DOT must have been asleep at the switch.I get to a TA miles later weighed the load and 5000 lbs over on the back.

Oh, and if you DO scale your loads...CHECK YOUR SCALE TICKETS! Make sure you are given the right one! I weighed at the Drums, PA Pilot one morning at like...330am or something and the clerk (and myself obviously) was so tired neither one of us realized I was given the wrong ticket. Made it all the way down to VA before they caught me. It wasnt off too much, slid the tandems a couple holes, got on my way.

I had just gotten my CDL and went out for a ride with one of our mentor drivers, he decided that we were going to take a pneumatic trailer in the yard that the bulk plant was using to hold waste cement in, he went in and just grabbed a generic MSDS out of the bulk plant and me being the rookie I was at the time just rolled with it and off we went for the day. Well even I could tell the thing was WAY too heavy and he just told me to keep rolling. Ended up getting nabbed at a weigh station, and I forget the exact weights on the axles but the gross was 110,000 give or take a few, I forget the exact weight. needless to say I got some good training out of it and PENNDOT was nice enough to let us take it back to the yard and the mentor got 2 weeks on the grass without pay.

usually will weigh, if the load is over 30K. just to make sure it isn't over on 1 axle.
sometimes the pallets are not always the same weight. -
Whats the average take home pay there? Might be the most expensive overweight "fine" in this thread!
