Going to orientation next week.....have been reading up my new trade (hopefully)....just a thought...but has anyone ever removed the paaenger seat from their truck to make extra room for a fridge, shelves or just more storage ? have not been able to find any history of this action....even by O/O.....if you are not planning to carry any passengers it seems like a no brainer...but I'm sure there must be a reason that I am over looking......any thoughts ?

I have never had a passenger seat. I usually mount a box to the seat base for extra storage.
bentstrider83 Thanks this. -
I am an O/O, and have removed the seat for more room. But I guarantee there will come a time you wish you had it back.

Many trucks would come in without the passenger seat, Peterbilt had their batteries under the seat in some so that did not work.
Their is no regulation that, specifies what you can mount in the passenger seat area. It must be very secure, so it will not fall into the driver if the truck goes on it's side. -

There are plenty of trucks that don't have passenger seats.

I've seen a lot of prime trucks with no seat at truckstops, then again they might be the light trucks since they also only had one fuel tank.

You can do it easy ! Six bolts usually . Hardest part is capping the air line. Best of luck

I've taken the passenger seats out of my last 2 trucks to make more room. -
How do you pick up those sexy 19 yr old hitch-hikers? :0 I was in one tractor that had a steel chair there....(I am talking folding chair) ...
If you are not allowed to have pass, I don't see why you couldn't remove it. Might save you 50 lbs.bentstrider83 Thanks this.
