Boy I hope that isn't my trainer!
Arkansas Frost Thanks this. -
why is that? I am here to help this guy to further his career and teach him how to drive and do it efficiently and safely and he's acting like I'm a tour guide on a national vacation. First of all its disrespectful to me to treat my truck like a garbage can and your time on your trainers truck is on the job training not a rd trip. This guy that I'm speaking off is a complete slob with a total disrespect for my truck and himself, he will not pay attention when I'm speaking to him or trying to show him something because he stays on the phone and will only drive 4 or 5 hrs a day because he gets tired from staying up his whole break instead of resting. This is what I'm saying, I'm not a bad guy and I've been training for almost 5 years but this is a first.

Id do what Lady K said and kick his ### to the curb. First Flying J on the right hand side of the road should work. Your there to teach and he is there to learn. Both things have to happen at the same time for it to be successful.
He will be the one talking on his cell phone or texting while he backs into you at the truck stop. -
And I hope you're not that type of student... If so I worry about you.
This is a JOB... It is WORK... You are living is someone else's home while you learn how to do this job. If you've never done this type of job before, you will be surprised how draining it can be... Or at least I was. I sure wasn't able to consistently drive 8-10 hrs daily right off the bat, but I sure did more than 4-6.
Now my trainer preferred to drive at night, which left me the day shift... That isn't always the case... Some trainers do 'make' the trainee drive nights and I can see a lower amount of hours driven just for safety... It's harder (for me) to drive at night and I usually have to stop in there (and plan for it) and take a 2-3 hrs nap.
I don't mean to jump on you per say, but Ice Train has every right to respect. He is the 'boss' you might say for these few weeks. If the trainee was having a problem with the trainer (being a slob, disrespectful attitude, etc) the trainee has the right to leave that trainer's truck and be placed with another... And that trainer would be 'looked at' I'm sure... I would think the trainer should have the same option. That student is driving the trainers livelihood and his LIFE with very little experience... What do you think he should do??Ice Train Thanks this. -
My favorite is while your waiting your FM goes home and the night relief replies back telling you to wait till you FM get back in the morning.

the ones in the office have to us preset macros on the computer that they "click" on...
Cell Phones have too many moving parts and is too confusing for most down there...

i know it's your own lingo. i'm just saying. we send a text when empty. they text us back with next load. we send text when empty. they text us back with next load.
that's the extent of our communication with the office. LOL. both companies i've been with these past 2 years. -
You know how big companies are though; they always have to know what's going on. Really, we send mt messages (16) like you, vehicle insp reports (09), accept loads (11), and alerts when we get to and leave customers (13,14,15 or 16). That is, more or less, all we have to send.

I called the recruter yesterday Mike was his name trying to get to the Atlanta Oriantation 28th anyone give me some real info on the company more along the lines of dues and donts heard the only way to succeed in there lease is to train thats not really my cup of team trying to go as company then get into lease program any info would be great.
