Quick update....new rules in effect, announced at meeting. Phone calls on cell phone limited to one hour in a 14 hour driving period in no more than 10 minute lengths...including WalMart business and personal. Also, you must sign a paper stating you will provide your cell phone billing records on demand , even without an incident or accident, or you are banned from having a phone in your truck...random truck inspections will be made to look for phones. Company demands each terminal to inspect 15 percent of their drivers billing records and compare them to log records each month...if you are talking(or texting) while driving in excess of rules, you are fired. No talking in citys, heavy traffic or bad weather....talking while in accident, automatic termination. No conference calls. Reaching for a phone is a terminating offense.
Of the handful of drivers hired on at my terminal this last winter..two have quit...one more says he is about to Go figure
Union petitions in the northeast...if you hire in there. could get messy. Good pay in AR is not so hot there I suppose.Rubicon and born&raisedintheusa Thank this. -

Walmart is not what it use to be they say very little live load, not true. They suggest how to log and if you like to have your personal phone records being randomly checked by someone in the office to see if your talking while driving it might be a job you like. If you like live loading just to go 50 or 60 miles you might like it. If you have years of safe driving and like the start pay of a low .41 per mile you might like it. The ones who I find love driving for Walmart , have never had a good job before . It's smoke and mirrors, you put on the uniform and have to walk around like a clone with a goofy smile on your face and when someone pulls your string on your back you will say "i love Walmart" "I love Walmart". Smoke and mirrors
