Every ones right. You will go everywhere and haul what they give you. Like he said learn ur truck understand how to make it work and you will be just fine. If u want to stay west just request it in ur daily check call, don't expect crazy miles but they'll try to accommodate. Me personally, I'm las Vegas based, they kept me west the first 2 months, and I didn't even request it. I got out to Conover once recently, and now I am on a dedicated route. Biggest thing with wksh is communicating, honesty, and just work hard. What America needs again in my opinion, if any of our kids have a chance at a decent future.

I think you responded to the wrong thread vega$trucker. I have no intensions of sticking to one coast, I hope to be sent all over. I have a goal of purchasing a piece of property in 5 years and would like to pay cash. Therefore I will want to stay out for extended periods.

I've pulled a lot of loads right at gross weight, only had one overweight that the shipper had to pull a product off. W/S has never pushed me to run illegal. If you want to stick with furniture mostly then your best bet will be to stay back east doing Ltl out of conover NC. Out west it's a lot more heavier loads compared to furniture. There's enough of everything to keep you entertained and give you a variety.

Put your time in and work hard and be kind (kiss butt) to your dispatch and you can get on a good dedicated run. After 6 months I was running NC/SC to NJ/PA every week until I went shortline. They have drivers that go from NC terminal to MT and west for dedicated runs.
