Usually only takes 1 Saturday workshop, LOL Some drivers love it, of course those are the same ones that enjoy being on the yard & spend their days B.S'ing in the driver lounge.

Funny how every time that I was on the yard there were quite a few faces that I saw at the lounge. But they probably said the same about me.

Yeah during my Winter-II workshop Kip made the mistake of saying "even the janitor can put you on weather shutdown". Dude next to me asked "does he answer his phone?

Well, since you have to be on the yard every '90 days' there would naturally be certain people that would also be there at the same time, every time. But there are some local drivers that just 'hang around', and some of the 'old hands' that stop by every time they get anywhere near the yard. As for hubby and myself, we try not to route anywhere near the yard if we can help it & we certainly don't stop and fuel anywhere near there. The faster we can get thru the DFW area, the better!!

When you are around Canton the best place to eat is the Dairy Palace. Best burger that you will eat! They are open 24 hours and you can park in between the two gas stations on the corner or the motel (Best Western?) behind it has truck parking.

Trust me, if you get a chance, try Dairy Palace!

Well, I had a great day yesterday. Stopped for the night at my uncles church. They have a huge dirt lot right outside the front door and across the parking lot. I parked there and spent the night then got to attend church. They actually let me get up and sing with the band. Then I hung around for lunch, then did laundry. We had a bonfire that night and I got back on the road today. That's one advantage to having all the extra time on this load, I got to visit more than just a hi and goodbye. Now I'm in El Paso waiting for a driver who's load is running late. I don't understand the issue, they told me I'll be 486 from delivery for 1500 tomorrow, Mine doesn't deliver till 0130 the next day but it's another 100 miles. Not sure why he can't make his but can make mine. Probably has something to do with the hours he's getting back tonight or something.

The hours he's getting back or possibly when he has to take his break. I repowered a guy two weeks ago with a load that had to be delivered at 7am... I was 3 hrs into my break when we repowered and he started his break. It was a 6 hr drive so he could not have made it even splitting the SB.
