Last week my license was suspended due to an unpaid fine from Indiana. I live in Wisconsin. The fine was for going 68 in a 65, yes that's right! I need advice. I found out the DMV is closed tomorrow and my employer will want me to come back to work tomorrow. I paid the fine on Wednesday but Wisconsin has not said I can reinstate yet. They told me on Wednesday to have Indiana fax proof of payment. I did, they did. What do I do? Do I tell my employer the truth? Will they find out anyways? I just started this job in December and I make good money finally!! Thank you for your advice.

Tell him the truth... show him you paid the fine. Then it will be up to him to allow you to drive or not. Suggest you carry proof of payment with you and once license is reinstated carry any proof from WI showing the fine has been paid.

Tell the truth!! Get your ticket straight and when your reinstated go back to work.
You should have told them asap when you got that letter. Not Sunday night .Ghost Ryder and wolfie6248 Thank this. -
They will find out. You are suspended, so you cannot drive a cmv period. They might want to know why you are not working.

The truth is always the best answer!

Yes, Tell them Now.....Do Not leave out with your license like that If you are stopped it will alot worse for you. They may be a little upset with you for not informing them but getting caught with them suspended is termination ground IMO.

Straighten it out and have proof on your person. Take it from experience. right after the CDL came into effect back in the early 90's I had the same thing happen to me. I got stopped in podunk NM and spent 3 days in a motel while my truck was impounded getting the paper chase cleared up.

A speeding ticket and a suspended license may get you unemployed. If you get caught, you are going to be arrested.

I thought it was a law you must notify your company within so many hours of getting a ticket. I would think a suspended license would have a 24 hr. notification period. My understanding this is not set by the company but it is a DOT rule/law.Dinomite and wolfie6248 Thank this.

The trigger is conviction, not ticket.NDBADLANDS and wolfie6248 Thank this.
