I've got what i've always thought was a 2ws in my day cab pete. its always seemed low on power though it was turned up to a 550/1850 low-nox file.
so i take it to my local cat shop because i need the jakes rebuilt. i get to talking about the low power stuff. so they some how come up with my ecm is a 1lw and the sticker on the motor clearly shows it being a 2ws.
the shop foreman and the mechanic were thinking their could be some timing differences between the two? maybe attributing the the low power?
anybody got any ideas. i'm only marginally smart about these on my better days.
thanks

So is the ecm on your engine a 40 or 70 pin? 40 pin has the plugs coming in from the front and the 70 pin has them coming from the side. We got to know this before we can go any farther.
Oxbow Thanks this. -
Also fuel lines going to ecm on the 40 pin.
power freak Thanks this. -
well the ecm is believe is a 70 pin. is it possible for a 40 pin tune (1lw) to be on a 70 pin ecm?

Do you know what Inter-lock code is in your ecm?
-
no i do not.

If you had any information from your ecm I'd be able to help you find out what file is in it.
How long have you owned this truck? -
