road construction, aggregate hauling (rocks, coal, glass etc...) and scrap all utilize dump trailers and I know the have to be at least building/fixing the roads ...its not all grain and corn (farmers stuff)

Well I am getting my truck together and packing for 3 weeks out, got me a fridge and microwave plus a coffee pot all snuggled in. Momma has been doing the putting the rest together and shining the inside up.
Have three loads back to back with no more than a little dead head, driver no touch loads.silenteagle, The Challenger and Everett Thank this. -
That really is the only good side to pulling a van. Loads are available everywhere, so DH is cut WAY down. The down side is the long waits at shippers and receivers plus somtimes the lower linehaul pay. But, if you can specialize and get into a niche market (LTL, JIT, HAZMAT) and line up with the right broker, you'll do just as good as pulling a platform. It all depends on the area's you want to run and how hard you're willing to run them. I see nothing wrong with pulling a van, because in the end, it's the paycheck that matters, not the wagon behind you. And guy wirth the most comma's on his check wins !!!The Challenger, FREEBRD, aiwiron and 4 others Thank this.
