I have some horror stories of my own! Youve gotta put up with a LOT of BS just to make a meager living at swift. More bad than good in my opinion.Quietriot6960 Thanks this.

Most likely a good estimate would be from 30K to 35K gross. Could be just a tad more depending on detention and other pay, but probably 1st year, 37K may be tops.

I'm just ready to get through training, and then through the mentor stage. Hope you make decent money, be safe.

Mrh, your scaring me bro, lol. I'm about to go to the Swift Academy in Middleton, Tennessee. Hope it's not too bad.

Its all a gamble. If you get the loads, great. If you dont get the loads, you'll be living week to week with their $100 advances that they charge $5 for. It all in the luck of the draw I guess. Ive seen swift drivers make much more than me, and ive seen them make much, much less than me. Sometimes it isnt in the drivers control.

Yeah, that sounds about right. I guess you can't run hard, if you don't have anything to run with huh.

Just finished my first jan-dec year as a trucker and grossed 35-36k. I went home every 3 weeks on average.

Armyguy where did you work?

I found my last pay stub from my first full year as a "Long hual, Over the road Truck Driver" back in 1980. I grossed $19,000, was home on average every 6 weeks and got a divorce. It's quite different today though.
