What method does your employer use to calculate paid miles? HHG, Practical, etc.....

Almost no company pays based on actual miles registered on your odometer so having the program probably won't do you a lot of good.

I don't know what you are talking about, but unless you are getting paid hub miles. No one gets paid actual miles. Every once in awhile you might beat the system but its normal to be off a few miles unless like driving down scenic highways that are made for motorcycles not 70 foot long trucks. You can use Google maps or other maps to see how much you are being shorted but when you tell the company they won't care. They will pay you with what ever mileage program they use.

A trucker GPS will log miles.

Or that thing in the dash, with the numbers... Write them down at start and end.

If you're talking about MILES per-say, you're going to probably discover a 6-10% differential between actual hub miles to paid miles assuming you drove a reasonable route and no major detours; and you need to make sure you're getting paid the miles your load screen indicated + any other miles looking for an MT if that's the case. If you're talking about making sure you get paid for your trips (and tolls, scales, etc) that all depends on what type of system your employer has you using insofar as sending in your completed paperwork.

But all drivers need to keep some sort of log or system to document or input the load number and it's associated MT/Loaded miles (from the message screen), reimbursable receipts, etc and as your pay stubs get processed, make sure to cross-check these with your records and put a check mark to them as you see they're paid, after a few weeks and you see something got missed, better get on the phone and figure out what happened.

    Get to know me! Hehehehe

Wait. Why did you say, "My miles" if it is your husband's miles?

Make up your mind... which is it? You or your hubby?

Have you read your original post? What part of your post said I don't trust my husband, I want to install a GPS tracker and/or gain access to his pay stubs? But at least now, we all finally know who we're dealing with.

Frankly I have access to all my husband's info. We plot and plan the pitstops etc. over the phone since I am home now.

I use google maps and he has Rand McNally Gps. He is with a different company, but before I could ping his truck and see where he was, sometimes the stop for the 10's had to be readjusted. And where he is I am not sure how their miles compare with google maps yet. In the old company the mileage he was paid was somewhere at least 10 % less than what google maps showed using their routing road; sometimes it was closer on the mty miles.

And it is a good idea for him to keep a notebook with the load info and mty miles and loaded miles if possible. I always used the google map miles because with company drivers a lot of times they only send the route solution with the miles for each section of road you would be on, this would have to be added up if you wanted a more accurate amount. With o/o or l/o they may send the miles paid.
