Looking to buy a truck. here is the issue. both are the same truck. same year. same engine/tyranny/gears/lockers etc.... same truck. only difference is one has 700,000km and 40,000lbs rears whereas the other has 1,000,000km but super 40's. i would say go for lower km but i do play in the mud quite a bit with heavy loads. i can't decide weather the heavier rears are worth an extra 300,000km. what do you think? same price as well.
can't make up my mind. what's your thoughts?

Those super40's are ready to fall out of the housing at a million k.

Sorry i forgot to mention that either way i will put brand new rear ends in as they both have 3:58 ratio and i need 3:90-4:11 for hauling super b.
-
Go with 3:90 for fuel economy. Hell, we use them om winch tractors with no problems and most of the time we are way heavier than the 63,500 kgs that a Super "B" can haul.
-
and whatvwould you think is more important? heavier rears or lower km? -
My trucks are equipped with 4.10, but my preference wuld be 3.90 as well.

We have a truck setup witb 4.10s. In the field we run 90 -110,000 driving in very soft fields. I cant say we need the 4.10s at all. It would get around fine with 3.90s. Were getting a slightly smaller but much lighter trailer now too so the next truck may go down to 3.70s or 3.58s even since were on the road more now. This is all with a 13spd, and 22.5 talls
