new rule for trainer time is 15000 miles. just got informed of that today while talking to them about DOT physical. so the more time behind the wheel the faster training gets over.

Good luck to you guys, it will go by faster than you think. Just listen and you will do fine. Chris taught me more about shifting in my 15 minute road test than I learned in school or with my trainer lol
fzoo70 Thanks this. -
Update 6 & 7 ( monday - tuesday ) : spent these days in the yard doing maneuvers, sight side parrarel, offset, and alley dock. All of us are doing well , had 1 truck today not liking the cold weather, kept gelling up on us. We too have been told of 15000 mile training, nothing wrong with that n my eyes at all. Hoping i get hooked up with a trainer that likes to run and get the miles in weekly. Until next update everyone stay safe out there and stay warm.

my goal is 3000 a week and get done in 5 weeks but will have to see what the trainer has plans for

Update 8 weds: spent the day on the course again today, had all 3 training trucks rolling this morning, looked like a wagon train at times. Took our first road trip after after lunch, moved a trailer to B&F, then back to the yard for more maneuvers. One of my other classmates drove the truck with the trailer and another bobtailed back, im in line for the next trailer which may be either tomarrow or friday. Also had my trainer call me today letting me know a proposed date for hooking up with him. Looks like i get to go home for a few days after orientation, which is fine by me. Until next update keep the rubber side down guys and stay safe and warm out there.

Understand that dispatch will control the miles each week but most trainers will ensure you get the miles you need as fast as they can. However dont expect it to be completed in a "set" amount of time. It doesnt need to be a race but more of learning experience.
I dont rush a student even if I we are both ready to kill each other LOL! The fast track usually does nothing but put a student at a disadvantage! -
I agree. The mind needs time to absorb information. Otherwise, it's like cramming for a test. What you learned is easily forgotten in a short time.

Update 9: gonna try to catch up on the progress from the past week. Since last week we finished up maneuvers in the yard tested out Friday on maneuvers, I must say everyone did very well. Monday we began our road driving, taking the tour of the countryside surrounding Richfield and Milwaukee. Learned I need to work on my downshifting, by slowing down and not thinking I'm driving my car. Did better yesterday downshifting, just took my time and slowed down instead of thinking about it. Night riving today if it doesn't snow too badly. Met my trainer yesterday, looks like I'll be heading out on the 6th. 3 days left then orientation Monday and Tuesday. The time has definitely gone by quick.
