I bet "loading" is not the only thing they seldom do.... Others include exercising, staying away from the buffet, and having low blood pressure lol

Not specific to decks but in addition to the above I carry a propane torch, multi meter, solder, electrical wire, shrink tube, trailer lights, head lights, spare CB antenna, socket set, wrench set up to 1-1/4, glad hands, band clamps for the turbo boots, alternator, wiper blade, 911 emergency de-gel, ether, plastic air line and assortment of brass compression fittings for the air bag suspension, one of those 75 ft long air hose things....

Absolutely! I use Watershed brand gear from Gemplers. It's Goretex, yes expensive but can be washed and dried and folds up nice and small.

    MJ1657 and highspeed1972 Thank this.

What difference does it make how long you are in the truck? Or how often you load and unload? WHEN you do those tasks you need appropriate gear. SWEAT PANTS???? REALLY??? Everywhere you turn drivers are screaming for more respect; yet to choose to dress like joe *&% the rag man. I hate sweat pants and will not wear them in public. We are working men for pete's sake......would it kill ya to dress like one??

Not sure if anyone mentioned this (I gotta go) but a safety vest and hard-hat and sometimes safety glasses are needed in the flatbed world..

In my world: Red Wing steel-toe when I HAVE to wear em;sneakers when I don't. Dickies carpenter jeans;sweatshirts,coat,etc.etc.etc..Really whatever is comfortable for you.. Someone mentioned a "rain suit" before? Excellent idea-as well as coveralls for tarping, work gloves and a 12-pack of beer. :) j/k

I do a lot of night driving and also wear sweats, BUT, I never get out of the truck with them on, NEVER have them on in the day or if I'm stopping a lot, but I do like to be comfy when doing a long overnighter. And no crocs, no sandals, sneakers and safety boots only.

I wear crocs or flip flops from my truck to the shower.

There is no way my bare feet are touching the floor of a truck stop shower.
