    Today one of our drivers was rushed to the emergency room. He was at customer delivering insulation he went to the back to open the trailer doors. He pulled the lever and it popped striking him in the face he was knocked out instantly. He woke up in the emergecy room with a few stitches with no idea to what happened. The load was too tight and they used the fork lift to close the doors leaving a lot of pressure in the door. The truck was docked by another company and then taken to their yard I brought another driver to pick him up and the truck. Just food for thought.

    I just don't understand why some shippers will do this...if you have to use a forklift to close the door..then it's overloaded...

    glad to see that he didn't suffer more serious injury than what he got...that could've easliy killed him.

    that scares the hell out of me even when you don't push the doors closed with a forklift.

    That's what Im scared of every time I open a container. I HATE not knowing how it's loaded or even what's inside. It's like I open a present every time.

    i'm sorry he got hurt and glad it wasn't worse. i agree with drvrtech77. i will be more on my toes when i open doors. its too bad somebody has to get hurt from somebody elses mistake. lets all work together and be safe

    The dangers you drivers are exposed to to bring me just about everything I use everyday........I really can't thank you all enough. I was ignorant of what it takes for everything to happen until I started frequenting this site. I will never miss a chance to tell the rest of us non-truckers just what it is you do each & every day. There should be a stamp honoring your sacrifice.

    He is doing better he cant drive for a few days. Eye is swollen shut and is on pain killers. He is at the Nugget. Last night we couldnt take the truck out the yard its locked u can walk inside it but just cant drive out. I dropped the other driver off got the truck started warmed up and left him. I think he still locked in there. Dispatch is trying to get a hold of somebody to go unlock the gate. Anyway I gotta get up and get ready for my delivery.
