I like the "shop" it has.

Before they acquired the TRL yard (Pittston) and CH Dredge (Salt Lake) they had plans drawn up to turn the RTCDEN property into what Pittston has become. IIRC, they ran into zoning problems, and then acquired CHDSLC. Following that they picked up a property in Landcaster PA (that was way too small,) then dumped it when TRL ran into trouble and became available for acquisition.
Actually, RTCDEN used to be smaller. As in a double-wide. At least until some moron backed into it knocking it off the foundation, and damaging the framing. So... now we have a triple-wide, AND Jersey barriers.

Hey Brink. I'm going to attempt to save you some frustration.
MILST1 NESSO1
Remember those two codes.
In a year, I've had a convenient drop at the 90 and bobtail home exactly once. Every customer I've been to in northern OH, is a live unload. You'll have to drag an empty somewhere before going home and they'll almost always send you to MILST1 in Streetsboro. The problem is Millard will frequently turn you away. One of the guards there has gotten to know me and it's become a joke as to if the ladies in the traffic office are going to 'torture me' or let me drop and go home. Just make sure you top off the reefer before you get there. Even if it looks like 3/4, top it off. I had the yard goat throw me out of there one night because it was too low. It looked like 3/4 to me but he saw it differently.
The nice thing is Nestle/Stouffers isn't too far away and I've never had an issue dropping there.
I know someone answered your question earlier but I felt the need to get a little more in depth. Going home used to be incredibly frustrating because I didn't know about Nestle. I'd get to Millard. They'd turn me away. I'd call in and wait for a new loc. Minutes would turn to hours. I'd go visit my former co workers....
These days, I don't even ask. If Millard denies me, I call in and tell them their trailer will be at NESSO1. Not an issue these days.
Good luckbrink Thanks this. -

what about around columbus? i'm coming on the 17th of feb and am trying to get an idea of how this hometime thing will work once i get through the newbie training.
-
Not to sure about Columbus, but more than likely at the Bud plant.
-
Kraft, bud, Walmart.
Theres a drop yard too. Or was at least 2 years ago. Shared by half a dozen companies. I dropped a hazmat load there to be repowered. -
Thanks for clarifying Chuck. I don't get up there much anymore, when I do about the only places I go is to the Bud plant.
-
You can have the heavy loads, ill take light Kraft loads from Groveport or the Walmart dry cross docks from grove city.
and yes if they're only 2 miles off of I270 I still consider it Columbus. -
i see a ton of prime trucks around here, there alot of local freight or drops i take it?
