Hey everybody, at the end of the year I get done with my run with the US Army. I Am (how did I get italisized) looking to get back in the truck after my 4 year run with the military because I just miss it too much. Anyway my CDL is still good. I got lots of fancy military middle east street creds now, so look forward to another vet sitting at the lunch counter with war stories. Thinkin about going back to the great lakes or possibly the plaines . So any advice on where to go , who to run for wpuld be greatly appriecated .

I drive for Crete, and i know they have a program for veterans.

having your CDL is good, but will need, as they say a "refresher" course,at least.
I think.
you've been gone for 4 yrs.
check on all the benefits from the VA, to get you started.
if you have questions about them, contact the VA or the VFW or American Legion for free advise and help from qualified "Veterans Service Officers".
WELCOME HOME SOLDIER!! and THNX !!
GOOD LUCK.
from an old vet.Tinfoiltrucker and Tonythetruckerdude Thank this. -
Thanks for your service, Brother. You will, as Numb puts it, need to refresh after 4 years out of the seat and get familiar with the latest hooks that the DOT has placed in and on you as a driver too.
The VA will support your 'refreshment' (did me) so go to them and get back out here.

Congrats on your ETS. You can do your refresher right there in Fountain. Are you looking to move immediately after you start terminal leave, or are you going to remain in the Springs for a little while before you move? If the latter, there is a horse hauling company in Fountain you might want to look into if you're trying to avoid the megacarriers.

Walmart announced last week they are hiring 100,000 vets that got out in the past year. No if's, and's or but's. It's worth a try. They might make an exception for you or you can make a public liar out of them.
They probably have an online application. There's a distribution center up in Cheyenne. I-80 west, first exit I think. Or pick one where you want to move.
Thanks for keeping our country safe!!

you could try some of the small local grain haulers. may not need the refresher if you can still drive one.

Glad your here and thanks.... If you are interested in the South, Texas is about to gear up for a huge oil boom and tankers/vacuum truck drivers will be making some serious cash! Get updated, get the hazmat, show up for work everyday and pass random drug testing and you can make some serious easy money....
