But it's all the same>taking a spot from a driver that needs to rest is taking a spot. It's inconsiderate and it's wrong.
-
because some places that is the ONLY place to park
if anything, why do bobtails take up single spots when they could double up, thats more annoying to me than some guy who lives in a sub division that wont let him park his trailer within 3miles of his home -
those cars should be towed
-
I live in a small town with two truck stops.one is north of me the other south. I park at the one north of me because it's closer to my home. These are the only places to park so you got to do whatever you have to. i have an agreement and that is sufficent enough for me.

I do understand your point. It reminded me of my friend who actually did just that. He would rent a spot at the TA in Baltimore to park his car at while he was working. Then he would also pay for his truck. Not the normal parking rate that they charge, but a set agreed upon fee.
However, someone that comes in and gets a spot and goes home for a couple days? I don't see anything wrong with that. More than likely you will use that same truck stop to fill up your tank when you set back out on the road. But parking your personal car in a truck spot to "hold" it while you are working, I don't agree with that. -
Scope out your local fire department, they may have a big lot. If so ask if you can park there when you are home. Be sure to give them a sizeable annual donation. You may need to find another spot when they have festivals or carnivals, but it beats getting smashed into at the truckstop.

I'll gladly give up my spot, after I use it for 4-7 days for hometime.

I drop my Trailer at my Church parking lot. and then I bobtail home and park the tractor out front of my house.

You could also do that. Find a local business or something that will let you use their property...but get permission first. When I pulled a van, there was a strip mall a quarter mile from my house...one of the businesses had an old shipping dock that they did not use anymore, so I was allowed to back into the dock. 2 birds, one stone. I had a place to safely drop my trailer, and i had a building protecting anyone from getting inside my trailer.
