O.K.....I nee a Real SIMPLE Answer to a Complicated Question....
Is it better to Buy a Truck that has MORE FUEL Capacity say ( 150 gallons each side ).....
Or go for the standard 100 Gallons that come with MOST Used Trucks.....
Is the MORE Capacity Better during Prices when Fuel iis Going Up ?.....Or it DOES NOT make any difference which one you Select ?
I'm going by DEDUCTIVE REASONING, that the Bigger capacity is Better, and will save MORE MONEY in the Long Haul ?
Even though It will COST MORE $$$$ when you fill up !
Keep on truckin' !

Is the additional weight of 100 gallons of fuel going to effect your business IF you fill up all the time?
I like bigger tanks> it give me the ability to run two days without buying fuel. It also allows me to save when I come across a good buy on fuel. -
It would have no bearing in a decision for me, however, I prefer the 150's. I can see no real fuel savings as a truck getting 6.5 mpg will still get the same mileage no matter what sized tank the fuel comes from and therefore operating cost does not change.

WOW !....I never even THOUGH about Weight !
Good Point !
-
Do you know this for a FACT ? !
-
How can you argue it?
-
Yep, I do know that your fuel costs are based off of mileage and not off the size of tanks.

O.K.....I'm just ASKING !
Don't get Touchy ! -
One gallon of #2 diesel is about 7.15 pounds.

The tank is larger, so more wind resistance, Though it could be the same diameter and be longer. More weight, less fuel mileage. How much less, I couldn't tell you. It might not be measurable. That will be offset by not having to stop to fuel as often. I don't know which would be better in the long run. The biggest factor for me would be the additional weight. I already have a heavy truck, adding an additional 800 lbs. could be a problem.
