May want to look into Landstar. My husband and I have been with LS for 4 yrs. and do well. You can also pull freight listed for a single driver and then ask if it can be delivered earlier than expected, making if profitable for a team.

Ive spoken with landstar and mercer recruiters and neither of them seemed very interested i. Hiring a team. Neither of them said no, but both of them seemed pretty hesitant to give me any info.
Do the two of you own your own trailer, or are you using one of the company trailers? Also, what is your average mileage rate over there? I was mainly looking at them for the AA&E freight.

Yep, they don't give you much info before they check you out. When we started we did not have our own trailer. After 6 mo., I started keeping track of how much more we would make with our trailer. Turned out to be profitable after expenses so, we bought the trailer. We run dry van.

As for AA&E. We went through all the backround check and were scheduled to do the class when the bottom fell out of AA&E. Most of the agents have there favorite teams (that have been doing AA&E for years)and the good loads go to them. So, getting started in AA&E takes quite some time to actually start getting the good stuff. We run into many AA&E teams loading the same freight we are hauling and they say it pays just as well as AA&E now.

Average mileage rate is up to you. You pick your own loads. You decide what is profitable for you.

Jigsaw, interested in getting some more info if possible. How many miles a week do you and your husband run usually? Do they keep you busy?
