I've told every broker that I work with, to call me with Alaska loads. I am prepared. I have Alaska plates, and a VHF radio. I know the route and I know where I can fuel. I can run a few Landstar, Mercer or Pakard loads and charge up my Comdata and TCH cards. I want to get up there and run around for awhile. If I could find the freight I would do a two to three week turn around all year long.milskired Thanks this.

If my buddy would go get some more experience we would run a team and after looking at the routes we could do TX-AK-TX in about days and thats taking our time and depending on where in alaska. That would be Fairbanks.
Whats the Dalton like? -
I have not been up the Haul Road, yet.
-
You could do some serious miles as a team.
-
That would be the plan. He just needs to get experience. I trust him driving no question about that, even up in those conditions. If I could get the loads setup or atleast do one to get my foot in with said broker I could really make some money. I am still a company driver, saving more for a maint. Fund. Just need to fund the right truck that can scale 48-49k even running a team and having a 300gallon fuel capacity. IH 9400 im thinking. T600 also.
-
Are you talking 48-49 in a van or on a flat?
-
Flat. Id want a truck with a 13 or 18 speed andnot a small motor. 550 or more HP.
-
Im so use to driving these petes and I can barely do 48500 in this short hood with a 48' flat.
-
Ah ok, I was going to say I can scale around 51 on a flat. Im sure even with a 18 and a bigger motor you could do that.
