LuckyLady, That catfish is a Wells Catfish, And was caught in Spain if my memory serves me right, And the picture has been floating around for a good four years..We don't have that type of catfish here in the U.S.
This sure is one big Catfish, I would love to go over yonder and tangle with one, I think the world Record Wells catfish caught on Reel and rod, is 700 plus pounds...

Yeh, I saw this pic posted at a local bait shop in indy and the note read that it was caught in lake texoma, so I looked it up on the internet and found that it was a wells catfish, not a species found here in the states and it was caught in denmark, spain or somewhere like that, like Mr Sleepy said. OOOOH!! would I love to reel something that size in my boat!:biggrin_2556:

Ok, if I had a boat it would sink my boat, so no I would not want it in my boat:biggrin_2554: but i would still want to reel it in:biggrin_2552:

There are catfish that are big In th US. AR has some big ones, I saw a pic in the paper back in the 70's in a local paper of a game warden that had a chevy luv truck (remember those?) He had the tailgate down and the head of the catfish was touching the cab. The tail was hanging past the tail gate. It looked like a shark. I have hooked a cat as big as in the original photo but he snapped my line when my buddy was trying to get him in the boat. I have seen big cats in different areas. What makes you think we don't have big cats here?
