You got it easy, I started this month with a 2200 mile week, then nine days of breakdown (that didn't really need to be that long), then a 500 mile load, then three day layover waiting for a 250 mile load and I'm OTR.
I was switched over to a new dispatcher the day my life at JBS started falling apart three weeks ago, anyone have any ideas? I tried getting a new DM through Billy, but that seems to be a complete waste of time.

It's just that time of the year. All these people thinking its the dispatcher when it's really the planner. Trucks break down. Not sure what was wrong with it to be 9 days. I'm OTR also. As Army guy was saying I think we are getting the scraps. From the teams, dedicated, and trainers. We get what's left. I do believe it's just crappy freight volume's.

I finally got a load but doesn't pick up until Monday. Deliver's Thursday in Albuquerque only 1079 paid miles. Deadheaded from Medford Oregon. Should get my 3rd restart in 7 day's but that's part of OTR. You win some and you lose some. I hope to get receiver to unload early. Happened last time. I just won't bet on it. So looking forward to the end of this bad week of 300 miles and 3 resets. Worst in almost 3 years. But as long as this doesn't continue. I won't be too worried.

Look around at some of the other companies you might like on this forum. They are probably having the same issues so either hang in or pull the plug. I'll continue to hang on a little longer. Hopefully it will get better. Some can't afford to hang on, but if you been in this business for a minute you know this is just that time of the year for slow freight.

I get its that time of year and its no secret our planners are "lacking" at best, lol, but man, this is getting to be the worst I've seen in the years I've been driving.
the breakdown thing had two issues, one of which had to be done to move, and the other was just getting the bunk heater fixed. The repair that couldn't wait took 5 days then they took almost an entire 4 more days on the bunk heater. The repair only took 10 minutes, but they didn't have the part. I was 250 miles from Green Bay which would have cost around $150 in fuel to dead head or, I could have idled for 2-4 nights to stay warm, that also would have cost $150 in fuel. But no, my DM declined that idea and opted for three full days of breakdown pay and three nights in a hotel, that totals $480. Maybe I'm missing something, but it seems to me it didn't need to be 9 days.
however, even with all this, still, by far, the best company I've worked for in 10 years of driving.

Good minus the Louisville part lol. If they could just send me to Iowa then back to Florida I would love it. The live oak, fl chicken plant seems to have a load goin to ankeny Ia every day of the week. The loads goin from marshal town to Florida seem to be goin to the dispatchers favorite driver. Luckily this week I'm a favorite!!! Lol

Hey guys, how is everyone? Still working here, just hiding out. 1900 last week for me. I guess that is pretty good considering the time of year. Just received vacation pay for completing my 2nd year here which helps. Have a new DM starting this year. So far things are OK. Nice to have a TX run this last week. Pulled into Greeley yesterday morning, never seen so many tractors lined up. Lots of day cabs there though, maybe that was it. Off for the next few, take care all.

I've heard they've been on a firing spree, not just drivers, ( maybe that accounts for all the tractors) but staff too! I've also heard that something happened in safety ( don't know what it was though) where they now keep the door to safety locked and you have to call them to get in. Does anyone know why? Of course their policies change like the weather, so who knows! Have a safe day guys! :)

I know the let my dm go a few months back. I also heard one of the night dispatchers were gonna get let go but I think someone posted that on here so I'm not sure. I think we were always suppose to use the phone to talk with safety before they let you in the office, just nobody ever did, I also know a lot of drivers don't like randy so he probably enforces this now lol. All rumors though so who knows what's true and what's not.

As I thought. Core Mark wouldn't take load early. So stuck with a 300 mile week. On the bright side is. I have 1300 miles to begin the next week's check. Would like to see a mid to upper 3,000 range, but the way it has been lately will be lucky to break 3,000. Only time will tell. Since I been off home time( lil over a week) all I have done is those coremark loads. Hopefully they will dead head me to cactus so I can put some JBS product in this trailer. Hope everybody is having a profitable week.
