So, as a regular driver you make decent money? I almost signed on with CRST as a student, then found this website. I'm just curious if they're a good company to work for if you're not a student.

they still have their ups and downs, i have to ride my dispatcher real hard and threaten to call operations or superervisors, but he finannly runs us really hard. they are ok if you get luck with a good truck, a good co driver and a good dispatcher.

    it is a crap shoot.

but yes, the money is there.

We had 60 people in my orientation, and less than half of them lasted through week one. Swift and JB are not the only ones to bait and switch people like this, and since everyone had to fill out the federal "I am/ Am not on welfare" paperwork, I have to assume this company is getting some sort of federal kickback to 'give welfare to work people a chance" which seemed to amount to a grueling 13 hr bus trip to nowhere and back again.

I don't like C.R England. THey said I had a rollover when I did not. THey even listed it on my Dac report and it kept me from getting a job. Well I called them up and said "send me a copy of the accident report, the pictures and the ticket I would have gotten". They could not find it and then said "Oh we made a mistake...sorry about that. We will fix it with DAC and sent me a letter with the correction on it" But by then it was too late, I couldnt get the job and I was mad as hell. It is now fixed but dang, why would you do that????

Hey, welcome to Utah. This kind of mistake is common all over. People in good jobs at England are "in the fold", meaning they're a member of a certain religion there. You can thank the patronage system, a system that puts people in good jobs because of "who" they know and not "what" they know. The problem with patronage is it allows incompetent people into jobs they have no business being in. Yes, this was a mistake, but I'm sure nothing was done about it.

My friends and I had this kind of problem all the time while in college in Utah. We found it extremely amusing that that college offered "business administration" while their own administration was filled with people who'd make critical mistakes that affected peoples' lives, some mistakes not even a monkey would make. Well, it was amusing AFTER we'd called them on the mistakes and everything got cleared up. Before the corrections, we were many times seen with steam coming out of our ears.

But if you're in the fold in Utah and ask for a good job, it seems you'll get it no matter your level of ability to do it correctly.

The sad part of placing your trust in a system is the fact people screw up.

Sometimes that screw up is very costly to individuals. You should have a great case for a law suite; however, if it looked like a law suite to them, they would probably settle. Your problem now is finding a GOOD Attorney! Not many around. In fact, I discovered a long time ago that the best way to get a good attorney out of a tree is to cut the rope you hung him with.

I was charged with falsifying an accident report while driving for Marten Transport many years ago. It was reflected on my DAC as and accident. However, there was not accident. The incident was a vandalism while I was in Canada on a week end vacation with my wife. I took pictures or the bicycle, the grill and pictures matching the impressions from the incident, then I wrote it up as a Vandalism. (With police background in traffic accident investigations and reporting, I was well qualified to write such a report.)

Some kids drove by around midnight and threw a child's bicycle into the grill of the Truck I was assigned to. Where did Marten get their Safety manager from:

Joel Z. was a Pilot for a commercial airline who was fired for Alcoholism; he was fired from Schneider for too many accidents, so he applied to Marten for the position of Safety Manager. Later he went to prison for playing with little boys and doing the internet No No of child pornography.

When we place our lives at the mercy of others, we better know who they are and why they are placed in positions of trust.

Joel got the job because he has a college degree. Some of you and myself could do ten times the job of this educated idiot, yet we don't have a degree so we will never see an opportunity like this open to us.

Common sense is not so common and College Degrees express NO real intelligence. It only shows, they went to school and completed course curriculum requirements. Nothing more! Most degrees issued in this country are a waste of money and energy because the majority never work in their field of endeavor and far too many must spend twenty to thirty hears of their adult life paying for their fun at their university of choice because they can't find work that pays enough to cover the cost of living.

In other words, we live in a BS world and we need to carry a shovel with us every place we go.

We have all been duped into accepting "Authority as Truth." Someday we will wake up and realize that "Truth is the Authority!"

$10 or $12 per month spend in the right place can change lives! You don't have to do what I do, but everyone should be doing as I do. What do I do?

There's a better way. But you'd better be able to endure the short-term boring effort of learning a second, and maybe even a THIRD, foreign language.
Take about two years and learn Russian and/or German.

After you get your language down, escape from the US and never look back. Go to Russia or Germany and marry a local gal. Get your marriage visa and you're set. Of course, if you're already married, you'll have to break the bad news to your current wife that you're leaving town for good without her.

Can you be this cold hearted? Can you study that language as hard as you need to? If the answer is "Yes" to both of these questions, you'll probably be able to escape the rat race. Anything less, and you'll be stuck in the US rut the rest of your life. It's this or a 9mm round to the temple. I'd be looking for some language books, boys.

Languages are key to getting out from under the capitalist thumb.

Thanks TIP for the idea. I'm not sure i'm this "cold hearted". I'm not even sure my heart could stand the anticipation of pulling this off assuming that I get it right. But it sure does make my New Years resolutins seem dull. Happy New Year!
