2 years looking for a job. Can't think it would take that long. I mean deliver pizzas. Work a sandwich shoppe. Something. Or are you one of those 99ers that just rode the unemployment hand out till the checks stopped coming. Good lord it's been all over the news since Ohio got its new Gov. Unemployment has dropped substantially in Ohio but now the ramifications of a 2 year ride on unemployment no one wants you cuz you put forth no effort to find work. Your criminal history is nothing you say all misdimeaners. Well on apps they ask if you have been convicted of a felony. It don't ask have you been convicted of a misdemeanor.

Student loans can be put into forebearance, backdated as appropriate to avoid them being in default. Call your loan service provider and make arrangements.

As far as finding a trucking job, give it up. Your criminal record, in comparison to plenty of other newbies without any kind of record at all, is going to count heavily against you. Your only options will be carriers who consider you as a necessary evil, and will treat you as such. Well below standard pay, crap runs, continual law breaking. Bad idea.

Get your record expunged, go back to school, and get a job somewhere else. Or resign yourself to a lifetime of Walmart floor monkey level jobs...

Basically the OP needs a second chance, which I believe everyone should have. Some of us were more wild than others in our youth, which in a way is part of growing.

The point here is if a guy wants a second chance he needs to earn it, show he wants it. It takes time.

I got into trouble myself. Misdemeanors just like the OP. I've been good for 7 years and have paid over $7000 in debt off. On a #### wage, working a #### job. Just now I can finally see over the hole I dug.

Keep your head up and be patient man, you'll make it if you keep focused on what you really want.

You're absolutely right. Nobody deserves a second chance by default. Second chances are earned. Show us what you learned from your mistake and you might be granted one.

    Jamey and 48Packard Thank this.
