Looking at leasing my truck to a company that does some JB Hunt intermodal work. I have talked to some of thier drivers and it sounds like the pay is reasonable. What I am concerned about is they use a factoring service so you don't get paid until Hunt clears the bill and if there is detention money owed it can take 3-4 months. This only happens with Hunt the other accounts they have are no problem. Anyone else heard of this?

I always got paid the next week for the detention time. But I don't know how my place I'm leased to does the work for them. We're contracted to haul for them so they must have a account that deals with us.
The loads only paid like 1.57 per mile and a extra $60 for a back haul + $ depending on where the backhaul is located. Ain't that great but its work.
i always get 5mpg pulling there equipment but I can get a 6.4 with a 20 40 or 45. It just seems like there's a lot more drag pulling them. -
Thanks, I am going to check into a few more things.

sounds like you came across bad facts there.

I talked to the company and they confirmed the 3-4 month wait, they also said that Hunt is going to put a new ramp manager in that hub and they hope things will get better.

never heard of any of that, but I wouldnt sweat it, I have worked on several accounts and never had any issues.

Sure hope they do get better over there, for the driver's sake.
