The minimum I will roll for is $1.48/mi I really don't have a set "profit per mile" sometimes i don't make but $.20/mi on one and $1.00/mi on the next run. Most companies try and make 30% profit but that's real hard to do in trucking when cost runs about 50% of cross

It's a lot simpler looking at a week compared to one day or load.

from the example i gave......the excetera(etc.) part...means every other expense you can think of to include with your expenses without me having to write them all out. Driver pay plus whatever else you can add to that. Just trying to help.

I look at everything by the mile, to me it is the only way it makes sense, here is why. Oil is changed on a mileage basis, fuel mileage is calculated on a mileage basis, 98% of the loads in this business are figured on a mileage basis, brand x tire typically lasts x amount of miles, etc, etc, etc. I know the majority of people figure everything by the mile, some like to look at it on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis, thats fine to, whatever floats your boat. I even figure my ink pens and notebooks into my cost per mile, cell phone, load securement equipment, etc.

    BigJls1 and blacklabel Thank this.

Something that I see most have missed... Profit is money left over "AFTER" all expenses which includes drivers pay.

me to ,It seems that bayou also figures it by mile. I think the more dedicated route guys can figure it different ways.
guys driving were ever the pay takes us then by the mile is the easiest...i think anyway.

So how does a company you have in your name also pays yourself even work out? Would seem like ud even have to pay taxes no matter what on that money, so why even include drivers pay?
