I am not going to judge anyone and I have PTSD, the likelihood of having issues being a truck diver for me is one in a million. Been driving a long time and a high stress over size and heavy hauler, now that is 5 times more oh crap than just dealing with all the crazy crap as a regular truck driver.
For Christ sakes give the person a break here, it is not like any PTSD turns people into basket cases just over stress.

What ALL of us with experience living in the world you live in are trying to tell you is...maintain and go to work! Like I & others have said above, I believe with all my heart that YOU are in better controal of your emotions right now,,,than any of these guys that haven't seen/done what you have.
I'd trust YOU driving a truck WAY before I'd trust someone that doesn't have a clue what desperation, & pain realy is!
You are in controal! IF you have doubts about yourself, then don't drive a truck. If you know you are good-to-go, then,,,
Go To Work!
Don't tell them what they don't need to know! They probably wouldn't understand anyway.NavigatorWife and 123456 Thank this. -
I've re-read this thread several times and I want YOU to know...I trust ya!
milskired Thanks this. -
Im with twolane. I find this job awesome for people like us. To those of you who think contrary do you think a person dealing with the kind of stresses we have from combat, is sitting in a cubicle dealing with some f*****rds around the office all day less stressful?
HA there's a reason I have not gone to college to get a job like that, I would go postal! -

Two lane that's funny I didn't tell him to go drive a truck since All of us with experience told him to. I told him not to because of his still present anger and depression issues not until he gets it under control. I don't care if its PTSD or their mom didn't hug them enough a person with severe anger issues and depression has no business behind the wheel of a truck. Kinda like the whole ticking time bomb thing. Being in a truck he has the means to inflict a lot of damage to people if he gets set off. Maybe he should try at a sprinter van first to see if he can mentally handle it. So before y'all assume that those of us against this until he gets stable you might want to understand that you don't know jack about most of us. So don't speak for me or anyone else if you don't know us. Again I will say I wouldn't hire him unless he had it under control. He is a danger to himself and others if he has the issues he is having still.

Who's to say you know everything about what a person should and shouldn't do? Like said numerous times in this thread, many of us with THE SAME PROBLEMS find driving a truck helpful and thearaputic! I know I find it very helpful to my PTSD....

I find it very therapeutic to keep away from clowns or stupid people myself, as long as I have been driving under your scenario I should have had helocoptors hovering over me and S.W.A.T. teams breaching the truck.twolane, razor ripper and Tonythetruckerdude Thank this. -
