I've seen most of their shows, some of the stuff they do is cool looking, but some of it is to far out there for everyday use. The best looking trucks on the show are the ones they roll into the truck stop with to pick up a guys truck.

i cant for the life of me figure out how new paint, polished wheels, etc, saves some poor trucker and his family. they never do anything to the engine and drivetrain of the trucks. that show is so fake i cant watch it any more.
-
You're right, some of those trucks have to need drivetrain work. But alot of 'em the body looks like it needs to be junked. They seem to add comfort and clean up the look of a truck. The wheels and tires they put on have to be helping out the trucker, tires are EXPENSIVE.
-
Actually guys, they DO work on the engines of those trucks. However, that usually gets edited out in the final cut.
I agree completely, if all they were doing was making the trucks look more shiny, then what is the point? A shiny truck is nice, but it won't make more money than an dingy one. -
Wall banger is right they do engine work as far as seals hoses they have even rebuilt the suspensions on a couple of them you just dont see it.Some of the stuff is way out there but they do put good things on the trucks to help the driver like the one that lowered the bottom step for the gut to step into his truck easier.I could go on with a long list but that would take forever.

If I got my truck tricked out like they do on that show, it'd be REAL hard to keep from turning right around and selling it for a newer truck. I'm sure that since they essentially turned my rig into a show truck, that I'd never be able to get a better price on it than when I pulled it away from the CSM!
-
How long ya reckon it takes to go thru one of those show trucks? I'm sure theres alot more guys wrenching on it than what you see on the show. i would think at least a week just to paint it. A month? Anyone know?

They do seem to go overboard with some of their ideas. I heard a conversation between a couple of drivers referring to the womans truck who had been tricked out and they put a waterfall in the bunk after removing all her closets. Seems the thing leaked and ruined her mattress plus she had no storage for her gear anymore.
I for 1 have more respect for the guys and gals that spend their own money and lots of man hours to upgrade their work truck to a show piece and go to the trucking shows. I wonder how these folks view the "trick my truck crowd." -
I know the owner of lockdown visits the forum on this site. Maybe he can provide answers for the questions we have.

Hey whats up. Yea I can answer a few questions! lol No but seriously,CSM does work on engines, trannys etc if the truck they chose needs it. I allready had my engine rebuilt ,tranny rebuilt with new rear ends. I agree with most of you here, some of the stuff they add in these trucks are kinda crazy. I like how mine was done, simple on the inside. I also like "The Heart of Texas" ,"Gravedigger", USS LaGrange, and "for the cure" also the school bus. I talk with these guys all the time and they love their trucks. At the Dallas truck show this past Aug. I talked to a bunch of drivers and met alot of people. It has been awesome and a wanderfull experience. As for Jlkklj777 saying no respect for the chosen few on the show(his previous writings on another blog) He is the only driver to say anything that I or my new friends from the show have heard about. Other drivers I speak too are happy to see it. Nothing too be upset about or look down on. It isnt charity like Jlkklj777 has mentioned. It's a show that selected some lucky drivers to participate. I was honored to be on the show. Now the story lines are dressed up a bit and the trucks are as well,(the start of the show )but you need to make the show interesting right ?
Like I said it has been a blast, met alot of good people out here on the road when I'm working that is,I try not work too much lol.
Brian and the mafia are awesome guys and it was a pleasure to be able to be part of the show. My truck runs great with no problems at all. I wash it every week even if its raining or snowing.
