you guys with big cummins haveing reliabilty problems or is that just a bad rumer and how are the dd16 detriots doing
-
I would like to know the same. Sounds like the DD16 is a great motor but I have yet to hear from somebody that has some wheel time with one....

The good thing about the DD15 & 16 is they have been designed from the ground up to work with the new emissions systems. Cummins engines have been giving all the O/O around here fits. The Cummins has more less been retrofitted to "work" with the new emissions standards. Detroit spent lots of money in development on these engines.

Boral the company I sub contract to bought a heap of new western stars with dd13 and dd15 Detroits. They love the trucks, but are having a shocking run with the detroits. 2 trucks have split heads, one has been rebuilt twice in 150000km and another at 120000km. Quite a few of them are missing really bad and they can't figure it out. A new ecu fixed it on one truck but none of the others. Havnt herd of any dpf problems yet. This is just the trucks based in Brisbane, don't know how many problems they are having elsewhere.
