I hit 19 hours last night, but only because there was a QC problem with my load, so I stayed at the shipper last night. I also try to start my say around 4 or 5 and get parked early. I start that early even when I don't have to just to keep the planners from getting me on night shift.

I won't let them. I either adjust my day and shut down early or tell my fm I don't run late nights. No reason to doing flats.
JoePerpetual Thanks this. -
I like this thinking....Sounds like leaving home early the first day out is key to making sure that you stay pretty much on the same schedule.... -
It definitely helps.

However; in van sometimes you can end up getting one of those evening stops, not too bad for delivery, but if its for a pickup you can get stuck on a cycle of night driving. Actually it's one of coopnp's favorite things. When that happens is when I get going as soon as I can after 10 is up to shave 2 hours off each day to get back on a day cycle.coopnp Thanks this.

I can usually get back on days pretty easy, my FM knows I have a solar powered truck and plans for it.

I had one week where, trying to launch out of Gary, I couldn't get my truck started till noon, and I was on noon-to-2am all week, it was probably one of my best weeks, mile-wise, because I kept picking up relays from drivers that ran out of hours. A while later, I did a week that was 0200-1600, I got a talking to about that, because I was pressing the planners to hard to get something "that fast." Normally, I would try to be on the 0400-1800 schedule.

Yesterday was a long day like that. Had a noon delivery, left Gary at 10:00 got to cons 11:20, unloaded at 13:15, went to Richmond IN for pickup DnH, made it to xt 95 on I-57 IL, shutdown at 22:00. Today though started at 08:15, shutdown 17:40 in Texarkana at a little over 500 miles, with a lengthy fuel stop (waiting for idiot in front of me).

Lol hell to the no, im like treefork do my damndest to stay on days. They quite frequently try and try to throw bs pick ups mostly on me or a ####e run at a grocery wrehse in indy but i have my parking spot for that place down. I dont ask, i get empty and run to it. Mostly i get lucky with prelded trls being ready when i need them, or punch out enough miles and shutdown within a window to run days and make said deliveries. Before the thought of doing so would affect my time in which cost me money but hasnt really been so and get better runs after all. But theres the occasional burning the midnight oil and as said b4 get back on a decent schedule soon after. I used to run the graveyard shift like a champ, now being a lil more experienced i know better to work around it but with alot of luck and hope as well.

Just to be sure, you know I was being sarcastic, right?
