If anyone parks in Madison and wants to meet up I would certainly love meeting some of you. If you want something decent to eat I can run you into town too. I live in Sun Prairie so I am only 10 mins from the truck stop on 39/90.

How much per mile does Millis start after your training period?
-
Pay scales are listed on the website and there are four different options to pick from. Check it out. I can't remember them.

Not sure if this is worth starting a thread, so i'll ask here...
I just finished up training and got asked to go regional. I was told to be at the cville terminal at 7 on monday and give dispatch a call. What should i expect vs what i've been doing OTR with a trainer?
I'm in 8123, so if you see a driver sporting some shiny green horns in the morning, dont be afraid to say hi

regional runs a little different. First of all, don't expect your dispatcher to hold your hand, you be expected to move fast but ask questions if you have them. You will burn up your 14 hours every day because of the shorter runs but most of the loads are drop and hook. Expect to haul a lot of beer and Shaw inter-plant loads. I bump sometimes 5-6 docks a day, so you will gets lots of practice backing.
On the other hand, you will go to a lot of the same places over and over agains so load planning is easy and you will pick it up fast. We have a lot of good guys on GA regional so ask questions from the experienced guys when you can. Expect to be home on Fridays afternoons, or Saturday mornings by latest, and leave out monday for the week. You will get a 34 reset every weekend. Running on the weekend is optional but if you do run weekends, expect to be short on hours the second week because, like I said, you will burn up your 14 every day. -
oh and I'm in 3914 now, so if you see me don't be shy

Awesome. I appreciate the response. I am certain that i will have questions, but i have been given plenty of resources for answers. I guess this will become second nature like the OTR did. Pretty excited to get out on my own, and while my backing is fine, i always welcome more practice.
Kind of off topic, but, the 660 i was assigned bobtails a whole lot different than my trainer's 700 did. Is there any tips for dealing with the sensitive throttle while bobtailing, or is it just something to get used to? -
you will get used to the throttle. the brake pedal was more interesting to me!! tips for the 660: you will want to open the door and lean out while backing if you can't see well, which will be most of the time since the cab is so much more narrow than the 700. other than that, those are good trucks!

It's just something you'll get used to. Sounds like you have a lighter truck than your trainers but just take it easy and you'll be fine
