Yes, there are a lot of people using illegal drugs that want to drive a truck and want to know what their chances are of being caught. What is a lot? 5 - 10 - 15% depending on your location. Look at the states that have legalized medical use and states that have legalized use of mj such as in Colorado. There you would likely see 15 to 20% of the applicants for any job have a history of drug use.
Drug abuse accounts for 80% of the crime in the US according to law enforcement statistics. Drug users need a lot of money to feed their habit(s). They will engage in any opportunity they can find to get the money for their habit. But the drug testing procedures required by the feds does a really good job of keeping them from getting behind hte wheel of a truck, or trains, or buses, or planes. Random drug testing and for cause drug testing really works.
So there are a lot of folks that want to know if they can get a truck driving job and not get caught.....but they will get caught! -
that's where i was going with the op, who doesn't seem to wanna go there and just say
it is perfectly normal, and even wise to get all available information that is out there, on a mandatory testing/system/agency that is fallible, and can greatly affect anyone forced to participate at any time
whether it be legal or illegal drugs,
it the op or anyone else doesn't like it, i could care less
i don't have any doubts that whether pilots or truckers, when aware of any meds or even medical scenarios that may affect their license, most would prefer to get and pursue info and legal remedies, when it is available, as an option
op seems to think that
might interest some that canucks don't have a mandatory setup, mostlyLast edited: Feb 2, 2013

One man's opinion. An interesting opinion, but he clearly has an agenda and is about as impartial and open-minded as Wayne LePierre is when it comes to gun control.

So once again interdude what exactly is your point? I can find a doctor that says if you play with yourself too much you will go blind.

The courts have such a high regard for him as an "expert" that they have said the following:
As I said, he is anything but impartial and I'm not the only one who questions his status as an "expert". -
seems like it's been going on for some time with pilots

Welcome to Hollywood stereotypes. Hollywood sells the drug abuser and felon image for truckers, and people believe it.
