I went down a couple of hills in Nevada that weren't marked that they were there. Scared the crap out of me on more than one occasion. Couldn't see them either.. pitch dark and high beams weren't worth a ####.

My 240 hours are finished so we got a load back to Fontana so I can test out. All ready to test this morning when driver development says I am 4 hours and a few minutes short of 240 so we're going to grab a quickie to Phoenix or Salt Lake or Vegas then head back for the test. I'm a bit disappointed but since my mentor is so awesome another day is just fine. I just hope we get back by Wednesday at noon or I have to wait until Monday to test out. These 150 mile trips from home to terminal are getting expensive.

I finished my mentorship with 247 hours and 20,854 miles driven. Passed road test yesterday but there are no truck available which is fine because I slipped on ice in New Jersey 2 weeks ago and pulled my Medial Collateral Ligament (MCL) in my right knee but stayed driving to finish my training. Now it's off to the workers comp doctor and probably a few weeks off of driving because this hurts like a mofo and walking is really difficult. We'll see what he/she does about it.

ya don't wanna be hurting in the truck driving better get well rested your first few months is the hardest time as a driver after going solo take care of anything u need done now u won't be home much for the next few yrs or even longer u will get home about 48 days a year if u wanna make money u gotta stay out at least 24 days then take 4 off just remember when u go home u only get what u run in 3 days that week depending on where it lands best to split on both weeks of pay if u can but u can still make money I still manage to make $500 to $600 on those weeks I'm off and that's on doing it on 1 pay period and not split just depends on delivery times and how much u are sitting

    DocWatson and ShamrockSalono Thank this.
