1badz28 is correct, common carriers get the shaft because they have to wait to get loaded/off loaded. what a lot of our common carriers do is drop a trailer on the yard so that it can be loaded at the warehouse's convenience and then come back in with an empty trailer and drop and hook, leaving the new empty on the yard. in that way they don't have to wait.

I heard Pepsi side loader drivers get around 18$ an hour in the Dallas area. I know for a fact that Dr. Pepper Bulk Delivery drivers out of Irving start out at 13$ an hour (delivering to grocery stores pulling pallets off the trailer and dropping them in the back room). And the Dr. Pepper transport driver (going from distribution center to distribution center) out of Irving starts out at $15.25 an hour. 12 hour shifts.

Thank you! This was very helpful, I have an interview for transport driver which I believe is the same position for .42 per mile. I came on here to find out the home time. Because it says may occasionally be required to stay overnight. I guess it's a home every night job. :) I'm happy now this is all I wanted I hope I ace this interview.

I have a few question about the transport driver

Why does Pepsi hire part time transport drivers??

How many miles do you get on a week??

Do they offer any benefits for part time??

    Thanks
