Dont let them pay you per diem .. That is a tax right off for You. May will take the tax right off if ya take their per diem pay ... But, for some its ok.
just my opinion. -
I am on per diem right now for the larger checks each week instead of taking the money back at tax time. However, if I end up staying for more than a year I will go to CPM because per diem lowers your reported income, which screws up things like workman's comp, social security, loan approvals, ect.
For me it is a short term thing, long term you are better off with CPM. -
Joker85, Paloma, mje and 1 other person Thank this.

Does May have forced per diem?
-
No .. But they push it on newbies telling them they make more money .. May wants that Tax Write Off .. Thats for the Drivers.
-
I didn't think they did.

A small company on the coast. We only have 50 company trucks and about 100 O/O..
I run lumber south to L.A. then beer or wine back up to the NW.
