I live in Oregon and have CDL Class A, w/tanker, hazmat and douple/triple endorsements. I also have my TWIC card.

I was just talking to a recruiter from Schneider tanker/oil field division. I'm looking at moving to Texas in 8 weeks. The recruiter told me about 2 weeks before I move (6 weeks) to call her so she can set up an interview and orientation appointments. She said once I actually move to Texas and start working for them I would have to switch my CDL over to Texas.

It is hot for women and men :D If you work there are always jobs in Texas. It is always lazy people complaining there is no work. I am sitting here in a Jack in the Box and just got another company to contact.

Schneider will train you for tanker oil field work. Give 'em a call!
Texas is a great state to live in and no personal income taxes!

Make sure to get what the recruiters promise you in writing. There is talk about cutting the pay scale from daily rate to mileage. Rentals here are very high about a grand for a 1 bedoom....do your homework before you take the plunge. Goodluck to you wherever you end up

I'm new to the site but I work as a vacumm truck driver, I don't have hazmat so I can't carry oil based mud which is ok with me, money is good it is common to see 3800-4000 dollar net checks every two weeks, yes that's owner operator money for otr and I'm just a company driver, we don't do log books and sometimes we are at flow back jobs or rig work for hours on end, it sucks I don't have a set schedule but I did bring my wife over here so it's not too bad... Good luck to anyone wanting this life money ain't everything
