Thank you. It's nice to have someone with a variety of experience to talk to. I have a team driver so would be looking for a company that deals with teams well. I was reading things about Swift, so know what you mean on that one. Have been reading posts by others who've gone before me, so hope to be able to get into a good company. Saw an ad from McElroy and they look to pay well, but don't take teams.

I didn't read all of the replies but yes this is a happened to me. The school I went to had a third party examiner that came in. Well we test in a Volvo automatic and most all of the drive time in the same truck. I asked them I could drive a freightliner with a super 10 in it because I never drove a big truck and had to be the sencrozer( spelling) before and I got to drive it a total of 1 hour and I'm glad I did because when it was my day to test the auto broke down and I got to test in the super 10. It's poor maintance. Is the biggest problem

as a team driver, my experience with conway trckload is different. talked to 3 different teams, and all were driving an average of 4500-5000 miles per week. i wouldnt drive team for anyone that couldnt get us 5500 minimum miles per week. you guys are giving up a lot, sharing space in a tiny metal box. you should be kept running imo to make up for it. 5000 or less to me would be an insult, just as less than 2500 for a solo is an insult imo, for an otr driver staying out for 2 or more weeks at a time.

I just got of truck driving school up here in michigan and one tractor had constant air line issues everyday...they said the repair was going to cost a grand or two so instead our instructors just changed the airlines practically every other day the whole 3 weeks....the glad hand on one of the lines finally came off and broke on one of the students while he was testing and he ultimately failed after being so nervous.....we had two 1999 international trucks...not sure of the specs.....

    From Meltons website :
"If you are looking for a company that offers excellent pay, top-of-the-line equipment, and terrific benefits, Melton can help. We are now hiring professional over the road drivers with at least 3 months of recent solo over the road driving."

No, you can be an 0/0 or drive for a small fleet owner.
