At the J in El Paso. Delivered to a Target store this morning. It's a double drop-n-hook that should have taken 30 mins max. Instead the manager left me sitting for nearly an hour before she checked the seal and removed the kingpin lock on the MT (so I could move it). By the time I fueled, had my MT inspected, and picked up my loaded trailer at Electrolux I had less than 2 hours on my 14. FWIW Electrolux still went over my MT with a fine tooth comb AND did not want to see the Swift insection report.
Headed to Nashville with a load of washers & dryers. Delivers Friday @ 1100, so I got plenty of time.
Good night from...

St. Joseph, MO.
Got lucky with a ~600 mile load that delivers in this pay period.
Got unlucky with a flat trailer tire.
I got to the shipper for a live load, to be told that it was preloaded. I thought, lucky.
But, it isn't a Swift trailer.
I get to Love's to scale, and a tire is flat. (yes, I did check the tires when I picked it up)
Since it isn't a Swift trailer I have to wait for CSR to get authorization and a means to fix it.
That took the rest of my 14, so now I wait until morning to get it fixed.
Unlucky, to say the least.
I learned on my way out the gate that this is a trailer scheduled to be retired. The second leg after my first stop is mt.
So now I will probably be too late delivering to make the delivery tomorrow, since it is going to a retail store and they will likely reschedule for the following day.
Sucks, because I really needed these miles on my next check.
The past 3 weeks I have had an average of 1300 miles.
I hate this time of year, especially when I seem to end up in the slow freight areas. -
Sanderson, TX. What a messed up day. Went to pu my load at 10 and found out that it was not there yet. It was held up at the border due to yesterday being a holiday, Mexican Constitution day. Finally at 1600 loaded. At first they took the plan off me, then put it back on, without a t-call in PHX. Said that needed to take it all the way, so so much for my home time and Mentor Class, even though I could make it there by Thursday morning. I was so po's, just told them, cancel my HT request and put in a new one for Ohio on the 18th. As far as simulator class, I have 56 days to take it. Still have a DOT physical by the 28th. I am not sure who dropped the ball, my DM or the planner or both.

No one thinks they are, yet.
They will run you round and round until the last possible second before getting you to the sim or the physical.
At least, that has been my experience.
If you want to get them done on time you have to refuse any load that is not going where you need to go. -
