You would think that somewhere in or1, or2, or even grad briefing they could say "ext 1380 is for the midnight safety talk ". No worries, Randy picked up last night and then hung up on me (by accident) and sent me a Qc with the ext.

Funny you put it like that. I took a four drop run that was just over 900 miles. Four drops (including final). First was in Brooklyn and then two at Hunts Point. I called for my directions and spoke with Mark. He gave me very good directions and didn't miss one detail on turns, landmarks nor hazards. Quite a pleasure to speak to. However what he didn't tell me or may not have known is, it appears that there are length/width restrictions in the city of NY. DMV had a check point setup at Bruckner and 149th. They pulled me in. I now possess three citations. One to me and two to Stevens. What most likely got me "selected" was a burned out head light. It was working when I did my pre-trip at 3am. I know it was working when I crossed into NY City since I could see everything (I have a T-700 and it is quite noticeable when one looses a light). So company policy says drive with the lights on. I got pulled in while the sun was up so no idea light is out. I am one block from Hunts point. Had I not been using the headlights while driving I most likely would have been able to go by just like all the other trucks. The two citations for Stevens, bumper to bumper no more than 55' combination. Also trlr is 8'6" wide. They wrote a citation for 6 inches. Max allowed in NY city is 8'. I even recorded her saying it. Funny part to all of this I also took a picture of the DOT vehicle that was parked there. They had a headlight out while citing me for having a headlight out. Oh the irony!

Wow, nice rackett NYC has going. For Stevens to deliver into NYC, they need an "Overdimensional" permit. It costs $35 for one permit. And you need one permit to enter the city, and one to leave. And they are only good for one day.
TRKRSHONEY and TBT 5150 Thank this. -
Welcome back! I'm stuck in WV with an EGR problem. Seems par for the course since I happen to know 2 other drivers who have had the same exact problem. At least there's a Casino close.
