dude if you dont do what your suppose to and take all the risk and blame you will be slowly phased out one way or another anyone who tells you
otherwise is a boldfaced liar or a corporate gimp or they havent worked as a driver in this industry.
their are other options you can work for a carrier that follows the rules and when i say rules i mean you can say your tired and they will make arrangments or you can say hey im takin the day off im outa hours and they let you be . most otr drivers dont even have the balls to do this.
mayb its greed mayb its pride an ego who knows.
But either way the logging dep all know the game and have told you to
get with the program.
of course i speek in general terms mostly in regards to otr.
I wish you the best in whatever endeavours you choose to take

Bum,
It's not that I will ever run out of hours, I'm happy with my job. I'm home nightly, only out 8-12 hours a day. Just didn't know why i was being told to switch to the other method, Wanted to make sure the switch was something legal and not just company saying i should do it for them. -
I know but sometimes i just have to vent just let the bum go on with his rantfa la la la la fla fla la la

hey have a happy new years
-
Same to you BUM, Happy New Years.

It's not about how many days you go out, its about how many days the trucks go out. If it is 7 days per week then you are under the 70 hour rule even if You personally only go out 5 days.
-
Actually it's about how many days the company operates.
-
My company only operates 6 days a week. Does DOT know if we actually only work 6 days a week but are using the 7 day a week rule for hours? Can we get away with using the 7/80 rule even though we only run trucks 6 days a week?
-
99 percent of the time we work monday to Friday. Occasionally somebody makes a delivery on Saturday. Occasionally somebody leaves on a Sunday. With that in mind any cdl driver, no matter what plant they drive for is under the 70 hour rule.
-
But can we just say we operate 7 days a week when we dont? If we say that and use the 8 day rule, who else would know? Would DOT know?
-
Don't know. If you work for ups there must be somebody driving a truck every day of the week.
