My daughter got a brand new International ProStar Plus with a standard clutch. It requires so much pressure it inflamed a knee she had hyperextended on ice in a Wallyworld reefer.
Why don't the manufacturers use an air booster like a vacuum brake booster on a car? It would much reduce driver fatigue and make operation much more pleasant.

If her knee did that just from a clutch she has other problems and needs to see a doctor

Hydraulic clutches are standard on current production Prostars. Therefore she doesn't have a "Brand New" one. Further more, the Prostar also has an air-assist option for their hydraulic clutch linkage. I haven't tried an air assist yet, but even the hydraulic linkage is effortless. I am sorry for your daughter, trust me, my knees are getting bad from working on these all day and get pretty sore too. Hopefully this is a fleet truck that maybe she can trade up to one with a softer pedal.

wow, it is so easy to install european clutch servo on truck with hydrolic clutch, but pain on 9200 ore on shaker) I did servo retrofiting, I can help with advice how to.

Heavy is right, if it truly a 2011- current year prostar + it should have a hydraulic clutch. It is an option to have the air assist as heavy said also. Generally they are really easy to push. I have seen a couple cross shaft bearings for the fork go bad causing the pedal to be stiff, or to the point where you couldn't even push down on the pedal.

I have a '12 ProStar+ Eagle, production date is 11/11....it has one of the heaviest clutches I have ever felt before. Luckily I rarely have to push the #### thing down more than about a half a dozen times a day.

"Current Production". Not 14 months ago. Things change fast. I believe trucks built in 2012 have the hydraulic linkages. OP said truck was "Brand new" so it should have been built in 2012. If your clutch is too hard there may be something wrong with it. Have you had it checked out?

early 2010 build year did have hydraulic clutches. Check to see if you have fluid in the reservor for the hydraulic clutch. The factory wasnt tightening down the caps and the fluid would puke out getting air in there and screwing up the master cyl.
