Eh. Larger companies are starting to use them anyways. They aren't as bad as people make them out to be.

Worked for a company that was forced to go to Elogs, due to a fatality wreck. My pay went up $10K the first year; some of the drivers pay went up $15K or more. The top 5 drivers pay went down, so now everyone makes average $65K. Why? No more falsifying logs, no more dispatchers holding back top paying runs for their babies, no more junior drivers sitting at home while the babies crank up another log book. Within a few months the top 5 babies started looking more their ages of 40's & 50's instead of 70's & 80's. The top 5 even admitted later, that they felt better and weren't exhausted all the time.

If u pull the same trailer all day u dont have to worry about your logs all day.Watch out when fueling though. Some of the overhangs at the fuel stations will not let your blackberry communicate with the satelite. Best off switching your change of duty status yourself manually when fueling.

Ya I heard WS was getting a DOT audit this month. I figure that means that e-logs will soon follow.

I don't know what I think about eobrs exactly. Some good, some bad. But I am quite certain I would have enjoyed my job less if I had to use them all the time. I likely would've given up OTR a lot sooner due to the uncomfortable positions the inflexibility of electronic control binds you with.

But anyway, I don't really care.. I gave my 2 weeks notice recently! My new company uses eobr's too. But its local, and in this case, I think they will be beneficial more often than not.
