How fast is that in MPH?
This is the U.S., after all.

And all the Volvo's I have driven have had the gear pattern displayed on the visor.
All you have to do is lower it, and look.

Aside from their failed experiment in the late 90s importing the Volvo syncronized 14 speed gearbox, Volvo north America has used domestic gearboxes. Unless you got some wierd export model truck.

I can't understand why synchronized gearboxes never caught on in NA

We're too lazy to use the clutch. :) Personally I'd like to see 'em, as well as some of the more advanced automatics.

    Scania man Thanks this.

I'm only saying it cos I'm now in NA, I'm driving straight cut gears, they are ok , ya do get the hang of them! But a syncro is easier and safer; ie : ya can't miss a gear, I get the whole floating gears , it certainly gives you something to do but as most of you guys well know there is alot of "drivers" that can't use these and while it's ok to laugh imagine the consequences of loss of control because of this, coming down lets say the Rockies, in a syncro you can't miss a gear or make a mistake, not everyone is as good as you guys, you can be as good as you want, nothing to say the guy coming down that mountain won't take you out !!
I also got to drive an Eaton auto, really like an early 90's Scania CAG, in otherwords crap! Volvo ishift or Mack mdrive, really good semi autos !! I like modern autos , that's a compliment as to how good they are! My favorite is a manual syncro, cos you can never be outa control even if you're a rookie!
