I have to ask,why did'nt you try and find a company that would prehire you before attending school? Now you're out of all that money not to mention a worthless CDL.2005 is not long enough to be released as companies see it.If you can't find a job by now then doubt you will.I know that's something you did'nt wanna read but i'm being realistic.I've been driving since 2003 and during that time, companies have become more stricter and stricter on the hiring process.

I'm not an expert by any means, but you'd probably have better luck with a smaller mom & pop operation than a large company.

I wouldnt say "useless" but it isnt going to be easy. Keep looking and making calls. The recent release in conjunction with no experience is indeed a big obstacle for many but there are companies that may consider you but you are definately going to have to search. Good luck.grenade668, sean44 and pattyj Thank this.

maybe you can find some possibilities. When it comes to hauling freight, you know how companies are, they see someones application with a prison record they get nervous.Everyone deserves a second chance but in trucking certain things you don't even get one chance to prove yourself.

I thought about that too but how many mom and pop companies hire fresh out of school?

keep your head up and stay inbetween the lines i agree w/ vaio127 but can still make good money

This poster may not be able to drive trk for awhile but there are far better paying non trucking jobs.A close friend at the time he was in the pen for 25 yrs got released and now hes a welder and making excellent money. So there are employers that do give chances just not so much in the trucking industry.

Have you tried local construction, steel and/or crane companies? I used to work for an industrial construction company and we had 4 full time CDL drivers on the payroll. We fabricated steel, process pipe, etc. and had to deliver these items to jobsites - locally and out of state.
I realize it may not be a whole lot of money (we paid an average of $14-16/hr + benefits & vacation), but it could give you that chance you're seeking and give you more experience, too.pattyj, Trogdor, Lonesome and 1 other person Thank this. -
Local dump truck, box truck delivering furniture etc... something to get you on the road and give it some time to let the charges age a couple of more years. Usually 10 years is the magic number, but that is from the end of everything, parole, probation, etc, not just release.
Good luck brother.Tonythetruckerdude, grenade668, Pmracing and 1 other person Thank this.
