I see Maverick has a NC terminal for glass training will i do orientation there also ? i am thinking about joining the glass division thanks
-
You'll do orientation in Little Rock, AR, then go to NC for glass training. EDIT: Seems they've moved the glass training to Little Rock as well.wideglide13 Thanks this.

Moving all glass training to HQ in North Little Rock, Ar. Maverick will be expanding "the barn" adding additional space indoors so the trailers now outside will be inside. New drivers are no longer sent to Laurinburg for glass training. So a new hire for the glass division with no prior experience will do 2 weeks of orientation (1 week classroom, 1 week securement in the barn) then an additional week glass securement training. then at least 21 days in a trainer truck, then 2 day evaluation out period then they are assigned to a truck of their own.
For all current Maverick drivers that haven't already, I found out about the training building expansion in the Town Hall Meeting video on the MMS portion on the qualcomwideglide13 and sewerman Thank this. -
How about BMI do they make drivers do a sleep apnea test ?
-
Not at this time that I know of.
wideglide13 Thanks this. -
Yep. just started that up. Made us trainers aware that they were going to start testing for apnea and students that come aboard would be required to use them. Were not allowed to ask them what medical conditions they have but dead give away if youre loading a breathing machine(name escapes me as my 4 yr old is strewing toys all over the living room right now) im not going to look at the guy and ask if he's diabetic. And i'm not going to force him to use it either. He wants to stop breathing and go into cardiac arrest in his sleep, that's his choice. BUT(there's always a but, some bigger than others) if it keeps them from snoring like a chainsaw bunked directly above me, i'll use a 2" hand ratchet to keep that mask on his face. lol

started it about 3 weeks ago
sewerman Thanks this.
