It matters not who sold the radio nor any seals when it comes to factory Galaxy warranty. Simple conversion does not void factory warranty. Even if you buy the radio from a shop that applies their own seal, as long as they did not alter or modify the radio beyond conversion it is still covered under factory warranty.

That is what Bells told me on my 94HP.......They do Galaxy warranty work so i believe them.
-
I really don't know that Bells does Galaxy factory authorized warranty or not. I have heard over the last 30 years MANY MANY shops claim they do warranty work for this mfr or that mfr., again maybe Bells does, I've just never heard of such.
What I do know is that you can communicate directly with Galaxy for warranty. Radio goes to them directly in So. Cal.
Nevertheless, to the original poster, as said before be careful where you buy and be sure they don't void your warranty of your new Galaxy.EZ Money Thanks this. -
You have a point. Some shops say they do warranty work for these manufacturers. Truth is that they don't and they just say that to draw in customers. Bells seems like a good place to go for CB stuff but I'll just keep going to my guy because I know for a fact it'll be done right.

I have never seen a Galaxy radio that didn't need more that just converted to 11 meters. They have to be aligned from 10 to 11 meters to work properly at least, and a little tune up will help too. I've seen the tech I use send one back for warranty that had all the above things done to it. (This was several years ago when he was still selling retail.) Course, he knows/knew them on a first name basis also and they knew him and knew he didn't do anything to the radio that would warrant voiding the warranty. Being careful who you buy from and who you let set up your radio can make a difference in whether or not they honor the warranty, should it be needed.

IT'S ALIVE!!! As a last ditch effort, I followed the advice of Mike at the 236 radio shop in Roscoe, TX. He told me to open the radio up, pull all the knobs off the front, spray the knobs/controls liberally with electronic contact cleaner while working the knobs back and forth and don't plug the power cord back in for several hours, to make sure everything is dry.
My radio powered up and talks like new. -
Good deal!

So I don't need to send you any shipping money?????
Those guys named "Mike" are great guys!

I guess I will hang on to it for a bit longer. It's dead keying 12 and swinging 50-55. I've got my SWR's down to 1.1 on channel 1 and 1.4 on channel 40. That's good enough for me.

Yeah it's a keeper!
