Well, they were hot to sell them all before the next year comes out and I could get a bumper to bumper warranty up to 7 years and 100,000 miles, so am tempted to give it a goo as that basic engine has proven to be sturdy.

That warranty is pretty worthless for a hot shot only going to last a little more then a year, not very much goes wrong in the first 100k anyway .
-
Last about 7 months.
Like Truckon stated, the majority of the major issues will be after 300,000.
My truck has 839,600 miles on it. Love the 5.9. -
Not to mention all the ways they try and get out of paying on a claim. You have to remove cab for about anything to one of the 6.4's I think.
Truck on didn't you wreck your truck?
7.3 540,000 and still going. -
Yup, jack knifed in that ice storm in KY, got lucky on that one, no one was hurt, trucks sleeper was the only thing really messed up, we pulled that off so now I'm running a day cab till I find a new sleeper .
-
470K on the sterling still running strong , and 300k on the dodge... better to replace parts then trucks IMHO, then you know what your working with..
-
That's good. I run a super cab so never had a need for a sleeper I fit in seat just fine.Don't fool around in ice if I can help it.

100,000 mile in a year is more than I would drive as we have mostly a 300 mile radius and most of what we do now fits in a transit connect.
There are some where we have to rent a larger truck, and the cost of the rentals is more than what that truck would cost.
There is also the issue of missing out on a lot of jobs if we can't confirm then grab the rental fast enough.
Oh, and anything over 26 to 28 feet is a missed opportunity as well.
I figure a Diesel Dually (either Dodge or possibly Ford) one ton, a 40 foot flatbed with tarps and 15,000 lb load capacity would be a good start.
