been a learning experience w/e so far. came out of hometime in southern NH early thursday.

went to jay,me to pick up "a preload, its waiting for ya"

waited 5 hours for live load, ended up NOT getting outta dodge before storm.

    NOTE TO ROUTING!!!!

when ya know there is a blizzrd heading for new england, THAT is a great time to use the ol' RT 2 behind Mt. Washington, cross to I91 go down cross south VT on 9 and get to Albany. would've worked out great, even with the delay in loading.

anyways, spent thursday night at mm25 rest area on the Maine pike. of course, shutdown late so i couldn't leave till after noontime.

drove right through the heart of that beast and got to maybrook,ny to lay up. literally, i crossed into CT on 84 about 5 min before traffic ban went into effect in MA. CT ban went up as i was passing through, NY was posted in CT right at the last truck stop....like we had anywhere to park.

truck and I both did great, never broke traction not even once.

so i get to the con for this mornings appointment........

    no body here

seems everyone except the driver and planner (who sent me the pre that i took for this afternoon) knew the appt was changed to tomorrow.....it'd be nice to get another pre soon....

at least i get to hang out at this pilot in benton harbor,mi for a day.

spoke with a driver who was leaving as i parked, he is correct, lot lizard heaven in here.

    eeeeeewwwwwwww!

what a crap-storm, nowhere to go but up on this run i guess! :biggrin_255:

i feel better now that ive vented lmao

At the Grand Woodfield in Marshfield. Put on my raincoat and walked down to Menards and bought me a hammer and an ice pic, then went over to Goodwill and bought a pair of used ice skates. I figure when this rain freezes like and inch thick on my car overnight I can pic it off in the morning and if that don't work then I can use my new skates to get down to 29th street in the morning.

Hey Techno...be safe if you are driving back tonight or in the morning, it's already slick here and when the temp goes down I think it's gonna be really bad. It might be a bad day for driving tomorrow, lets hope things improve I wanna get out on the road and range.

Glad you got out, I was trying to get in. And yeah, Benton Harbor is like that. Only place recently I've had knocks on my door. Always close curtains as soon as I park, and don't answer.

FL the state is spectacular I don't think ill ever leave residence wise, trucking freight sucks for dry van. But I always get home when I want, every time without fail since I went 11/3. Instead of pushing me out of the state to bring me back in they just hung me out to dry. There's freight I think roehl doesn't have their hand in it, or not willing to pay the price. Idk what it is. Coming or going I have no problems they just wasted my time I guess for whatever reason. Home now so yay

Beloit, Wi at the J, guy just asked me for cash or some food to get back to TN with his wife. I told him no because I recognized him from when I gave him food before in Hampshire, IL at the TA, about 1.5 mos. ago. Same story, trying to get to TN and low on gas, need food or cash.

I always tell them I won't give them cash, but I will put gas in their tank, or buy them the food. Only once has a person said ok, and I did put $5 of gas in his car. That was when gas was less than two bucks a gallon so it went farther.

Had a guy ask me for money for food for him and the wife. Told him to go get his wife and we would all go in and get a meal. Never saw him or the wife. :biggrin_25526:
